Segment Types
View the video below to learn about the different Segment Types in Advancement Form.
There are three different types of segments you can make, and some are dynamic for transaction and upload segments. They are Transactional(transactions from Campaigns, Events or Universal Forms), Upload, and Builder segments.
Segment Types
First is the Transactional Segment. These are good for sending an email communication to someone who has already given or registered for an event. An email is sent per transaction and can include information related to the transaction processed. This segment is dynamic. As more transactions are processed, they are included if the report criteria still matches (e.g., more records could be added to the segment if the report end date is later than today). If you do not know how to make this type of segment, please see the video Create a Transaction Segment.
The next is the Upload Segments. These are good if you want to send email communication to a list of email addresses you created and exported from another system. An email is sent per email address record uploaded. Additional fields can be included with the upload to appear in the body of the email. This segment is static, so the records never change. If you do not know how to make an uploaded segment, please see the video Create an Upload Segment.
And lastly is Builder Segments. For these , you can virtually make any records from campaign, event, or universal form. These segments are good if you want to send email communication to constituents that have a record in Advancement Form. An email is sent per email address in Advancement Form, not each transaction. This segment is dynamic. New transactions can cause additional constituents to be included in the segment. If you do not know how to make a builder segment, please see the video Builder Segment.
